We must acknowledge that all suffering is valid pain. The suffering in rich nations is loneliness. The suffering in rich nations is internal psychological pain. It is extremely relevant; it is deep. People feel it, and it is just as real as a bloated belly, people starving, or disease and death. If we are to be Jesus’s hands and feet, we need to care about the needs of others- internally and externally. The currency of love in the West is not always money, but it is always time and compassion… A minister is simply a sent one. You might only be sent across the street, but it does not matter. To God, whether it is to one or the masses, it is the same- it is love incarnate.
